Large, Double-Sided, Branch Weave

Large Double-Sided Lapis Color Branch Weave

My November craft project was making this double-sided, large, branch weave. It looks like a beautiful boho yarn geode. The colors are turquoise on one side and lapis lazuli on the other. I have never shipped something this large and uniquely sized; it should be interesting. If you have suggestions on how to best ship something like this, please message me below.

Using natural materials from walks, hikes, and fabric textiles to create beautiful home decor is fun and rewarding.

Each of my branch weaves is a one-of-a-kind creation, made from unique branch wood from downed native trees, cotton warping thread, and beautiful yarns. This can be purchased on Etsy.

Fun Facts About Weaving:

The history of branch weaving dates back 12,000 years.

Weaving is one of the oldest crafts in the world.

Punch cards from Jacquard looms inspired Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage as they designed the first algorithms to be carried out by a computing machine in the 1830s and 1840s.

The Warp- is the vertical strings held stationary.

The Weft is- the lateral weave with yarn.

My favorite weaving needle is made from beautiful olive wood.
